Follower conversion rate - Instagram Glossary

Follower conversion rate is new followers divided by profile visits over the same period. It measures how persuasive your profile is once content has done its job of getting someone there, and it isolates bio and grid problems from content problems.

A rate under 5% usually means the profile is not answering the question the visitor arrived with. They saw one post about one thing; the bio needs to confirm within a second that there is more of that thing here, and the top row of the grid needs to prove it.

It is also the metric that exposes audience mismatch. Content that reaches the wrong people converts poorly no matter how good the bio is. If both this and non-follower reach are healthy but enquiries are flat, the mismatch has moved further down - people are following happily and buying nothing.
