Content calendar - Instagram Glossary

A content calendar is a plan of what will be posted and when, usually a few weeks ahead. Its main value is not organisation but the elimination of daily decision-making, which is what actually causes posting to stop.

Consistency beats quality more often than creators want to hear, up to a point. Instagram's systems favour accounts that publish predictably, and audiences form habits around schedules. A merely good post published weekly for a year outperforms an excellent post published whenever inspiration strikes.

The calendar that survives contact with a real week is one that plans slots rather than finished ideas. Deciding that Tuesday is a client-result reel is a commitment you can keep; deciding that Tuesday is one specific reel you have not filmed yet is a plan that collapses the first time Tuesday is busy.
